Tiny Tales from Alyce's Weekly Wonders
Hi everyone! It’s me, Alyce, and guess what? I got to celebrate my very first Thanksgiving this year, and it was a blast! I was so excited because I got to spend it with my Uncle Moe, Aunties Sheryl and Ange, my mom and dad, and of course, my favorite doggies, Boujee and Dapper. But I really missed Uncle Everton… I hope I get to see him soon!
So, about Thanksgiving… it was a bit of a weird one for me. I mean, everyone knows Thanksgiving is about family, but also… FOOD! Now, as a baby with a swallowing issue, this was kind of a new experience. But my mom, being the superhero she is, made sure I got to try bits of everything on the menu—safe and yummy for me! Now, let me tell you... cranberry sauce? Meh, not really my thing. BUT, pumpkin pie and vanilla ice cream? Oh my goodness, pure heaven! I couldn’t get enough!
And since Thanksgiving, guess what? I’ve had a major breakthrough with my eating! I can now eat 100 ml of purée or soup! That’s a huge step up from just a couple of spoons a few weeks ago. I’m also totally in love with corn puffs now—they melt in my mouth, and they are SO good!
Now, let’s talk about something very exciting... MY BIRTHDAY is coming up soon! It’s going to be my very first one, and my parents are already planning something super special. Invitations are out, and I really hope everyone can make it. The theme? “Merry Christmas! No! It’s MY Birthday!” I can’t wait to celebrate with my family, Boujee, Dapper, and all my favorite people.
Love and baby giggles,
Alyce 💕
If Our House Could Talk!
Hello, dear readers! It’s your favorite chatty house back with another juicy piece of gossip on the whirlwind of life happening within my walls. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in for the latest scoop on our lively little family.
Now, let's talk about the "New" morning routine! Oh, the joy of watching Damian and Katerina tackle their 5:30 AM wake-up calls! Little Alyce has them wrapped around her tiny finger. Damian struts around, convinced he's cracked the code on feeding her and getting her back to sleep. Ha! If only he knew. The moment he tiptoes out of the room, Alyce calls for Mommy, and like clockwork, Katerina swoops in to save the day. It’s their daily dance, and I find it utterly amusing.
Speaking of our little firecracker, Alyce is starting to scoot around! She's not quite at "catch me if you can" speed yet, but she's certainly giving these two a run for their money. I silently cheer her on as she explores my floors. Go, Alyce, go!
Now, let's talk about Damian's work life. Poor guy has been burning the midnight oil lately—twelve-hour days! I've been trying to be understanding about my list of repairs, but that shed? Two years and counting! At this point, I'm starting to think it's become more of a modern art installation than a functional structure.
As winter approaches, I'm pleased to see them preparing—backyard furniture has been tucked away, the lawn is looking sharp, and they've even remembered to blow out the sprinklers. But hold on a second! They still don't have the Halloween decorations up yet! Remember last year! Like, bro! Get with the program; it’s almost that time of year! I can practically feel the ghosts and goblins rolling their eyes at this oversight.
We've also had some new visitors lately, one of whom even knows how to cook! She only comes twice a week, but she's awesome, and Alyce seems to like her! I guess she's helping out since they can't find a daycare spot. Thank goodness for that—because let’s face it, Damian's culinary "experiments" could use a little backup. I mean, who knew that boiling water could be so complicated? Speaking of change, it looks like Kat's going to be heading back to work soon. Thank goodness—she's a great mom, but you can tell she needs some more adult interaction. One too many Baby Shark episodes if you ask me! I can practically hear her humming it in her sleep.
The house has been relatively calm, all things baby considered, and Boujee and Dapper seem to be adjusting well to their new human sibling too. Honestly, I think Boujee is just relieved that someone else is finally cooking around here—she was starting to lose faith in getting kitchen scraps! I mean, after witnessing Damian’s culinary "experiments" —has anyone had Indian dosas and scrambled eggs? Now that’s an interesting combo!
Well, that's all for now, folks! I'd better get back to my day job of keeping this lovely, chaotic family warm and cozy. Until next time, remember: home is where the heart is, laughter echoes, and apparently where Amazon packages pile up!
Stay tuned for more adventures from your favorite house that has seen it all!
Woof Woof! 🐾
Bonjour, les amis! Boujee and Dapper reporting from HQ, where the weather is playing a cruel trick on us. You see, it's supposed to be French Bulldog weather – you know, crisp air, perfect for waddling gracefully (in style, of course) down the street with our little Frenchie butts jiggling. But what happened? The weather is up and down like a soufflé that refuses to stay puffed! One minute, it's 21 degrees, and we’re panting like we’ve run a marathon. Trust us, that’s still way too high for our short snouts! Sacré bleu! Who turned up the thermostat?
We’ve been picturing glorious walks, breezy hikes, and maybe a casual squirrel chase or two. But, alas, once again, we must remain patient… *sigh*. Boujee even had her ‘magnificent stroll pose’ ready. You know, the one where she walks like she’s on the Champs-Élysées with imaginary paparazzi in tow. But instead, we’ve been lounging. Again. Tragic, really.
After Thanksgiving, where we were showered with love (and maybe a few sneaky bites of turkey), the week has felt like, how do you say… très calm. Boujee, of course, spent the entire holiday working her magic on the humans. Then the visitors came—a certain nurse, who tends to our dear Alyce. Now, at first, this nurse was what we’d call "a bit suspicious" of us, probably because we're so chic, non? But slowly, we’ve been breaking her down with our charms.
Boujee, of course, went full “French seduction mode” with her signature move—the *belly approach.* She elegantly flops by the nurse's legs, rolls onto her back, and presents her belly like the ultimate canine coup de maître. And voilà! The nurse's heart melts into a puddle of love and gives Boujee ALL the pets. It's like watching art in motion. Joli, if I do say so myself.
As for me, Dapper, well, I’ve been perfecting a different kind of skill: I call it “the Great Chair Barricade Mastery.” You see, Kat cleverly places a chairs in front of the stairs so I can’t sneak up while Alyce and the nurse play. But do they underestimate my ingenuity? Mais non! I’ve figured it out. One paw at a time, I climb over this flimsy barricade with all the grace of a stealthy ninja (okay, maybe a slightly wobbly ninja). Then, once I’m upstairs, the prize is always waiting for me—Alyce’s toys! There’s always one toy that catches my eye, and I run off with it, like a daring jouet thief in the night. Alyce, I’m sorry, but your toys are just too interesting!
For now, life is perfect, and we cannot complain. We’ve got love, sneaky escapades, and an entire arsenal of tricks up our paws to make sure this household revolves around us. Until the weather cools down and the walks resume, we'll be here, perfecting our craft of charm and stealth.
Stay well, les amis!
